Great Googly Moogly! I’ll miss Kerry.

Do you remember this great candy commercial where the lovable old man painting the end zone for the Kansas City Chiefs mistakenly paints Chefs instead of Chiefs? “Great Googly Moogly” he says in his disheartened tone.

I used to laugh at the commercial but now I can empathize with the disappointment of that gent. Because today, I came to work and Kerry Noone was not part of my team. As many of you have read here, the former voice of Sodexo Careers is now a Sodexo Alumni. I’m happy for Kerry and her family. I wish her well and will forever have the door propped open if she decides to return.

Since 2007, Kerry has helped our team blaze the employment branding trail on our careers related websites, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN and so many other online portals (19 and counting!). These award winning and highly published initiatives were often the first of their kind in our industry and at times the first of their kind by any company. Kerry will be leaving a legacy of exceptional work product as well as some very big shoes to fill!

More than that, Kerry was just a joy to work with. She was simply a real person with a personality that everyone could not help but like. I learned a lot from her and we learned a lot together but Kerry would never call herself a guru or an expert or a master. On this blog and all of our other social spaces, Kerry was always Kerry.

Truth be told, I still laugh at the commercial partly because it’s an expression Kerry would say! But today it means a little more.

Anthony... did you know that is one of my all time FAVORITE commercials? Makes me sad to read this post - the past 4 years were the best 4 years of my career. I'm looking forward to seeing great things from my Sodexo family as a Reconnexions member.
