Don't forget to say THANK YOU!

Last week, I mentioned I was going to highlight a few “seriously informative” job search videos that I discovered on YouTube hosted by Tory Johnson, a leading career advisor. A few months ago I posted about the importance of writing a Thank you note during your interview process. See what Tory has to say about Interview Thank you notes.

A few key take-aways?

  1. Thank you notes are expected.
  2. Send your Thank you note within 24 hours
  3. Don’t rely on spell check.
  4. Link your skills to workplace issues in your Thank you.
  5. This is your chance to highlight a notable skill you didn’t get to mention in the interview.
  6. Don’t call attention to a weakness – focus on the positive
  7. Make sure you get the names and titles of your interviewers and send individual notes – never send a group note or email.
  8. Email is OK but be ware of spam blockers.
  9. A hand written note is a nice touch but realize there is a delivery delay.
  10. Your thank you note may just what
