One of the great things about working at Sodexo is the breadth and depth of opportunities the organization provides. With approximately 120,000 employees in North America in about 6,000 locations, there are so many different things to do, and it is common for employees to move around in the organization – moving up in their careers, across market segments, from one functional area to another. With all of our management positions posted in the Career Center, it’s easy to find opportunities that match your interest when you are ready for a change or a new challenge.
Sodexo does more than provide a wealth of opportunities for employees to consider, it also provides amazing resources for helping employees to prepare for, learn about, and thoughtfully consider their next career moves.
Sodexo has an Internal Mobility initiative, focused on helping employees learn more about cross-organizational opportunities, parts of the organization to which they haven’t been exposed, and the kinds of services Sodexo provides to clients and customers. Moreover, the internal mobility initiative provides employees with the opportunity to think about their career development in different ways. Internal employees have access to an internal mobility resource center on our intranet, and we host regional open houses for employees to learn about the services we provide and career opportunities available in a given geography. Employees at Sodexo are supported in developing their expertise and skills in the position they are hired into, and are also supported in developing into future roles in the organization – whether those future roles are within a given functional area or in a completely different direction.
In addition to the internal mobility initiative, Sodexo provides great resources for employees to help themselves through the hiring process – ‘how to’ sessions on navigating the career center and other online tools to find openings, writing powerful resumes, preparing for and participating in interviews, and developing skills to be competitive for new opportunities. We also have a whole Talent Development function throughout the organization that is dedicated to making sure employees know what their jobs entail, have the tools they need to develop and perform fully in their positions, and have all the resources they need to grow their careers in whatever direction works best for them. We have our own university – Sodexo University – that provides incredible instructor-led, online, and blended learning opportunities to help employees grow where they are and toward where they want to go.
What a great place to work! An organization that cares not only about providing the highest quality service to our clients and customers and making every day a better day, but also that cares about providing the tools and resources employees need to be fulfilled in their careers.

I recently interviewed for a career position with Sodexo. Unfortunately I was not the person selected. The Manager called me to explain that he was very interested in me becoming a Sodexo employee. He explained that the person selected for the position that I interviewed for was a current Sodexo employee who was advancing his career. The Manages said that with the current employee’s knowledge of how Sodexo worked he was a better match for that position.
I was disappointed in not being selected but knew that I was right when I applied to Sodexo for a career position. Knowing that if you are currently employed with Sodexo and do well, promotions will come. When looking for a new employer it is important to know how they treat employees. All this has done is made me want to work there even more.
