My Future is Bright at Sodexo
By Guest Blogger, Adam Feldbauer, Health Care Environmental Services Resource Manager
When I graduated from college with a degree in Health Administration I wanted to work for a company that would not only allow me to utilize the degree that I had worked so hard on but I also wanted to work for a company where I could start my career. I didn’t just want a job in Health Care when I graduated, I wanted a career in Health Care. And in January 2010, I did just that with the first job of my career at Sodexo as a Health Care Environmental Services Resource Manager. From day one I’ve been extremely happy with my decision to join this winning team.
Being new to the Environmental Services field, Sodexo’s training programs have given me the management tools I need to be successful. The company allows me to acquire the skills to turn this job into a career. I’ve been able to learn the industry by attending professional training programs in California, New Jersey, Tennessee and Texas. Sodexo offers diverse learning opportunities specially designed to help employees succeed and grow. I’ve gained insight and knowledge on subjects such as Environmental Services technical skills, general management tools and techniques, diversity, human resource policies, and equally as important, Sodexo’s history.
As a Resource Manager I’ve also had the unique opportunity to travel the country from Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, and New York to Tennessee. Each new account has brought a new experience. And in each instance, not only did I feel like I was able to contribute to the team, I also gained invaluable experience in Environmental Services Management, client relations, and professionalism. These assignments have been in both hospitals and senior service locations and all of the assignments have taught me how to properly manage Environmental Services.
Because Sodexo has more than 6,000 client locations across the US (not to mention around the world) my job is not just a job – it’s a career with a bright future. I can’t wait to see where my career at Sodexo takes me in the next year. And when I retire from Sodexo I know I will be able to look back to my first year in my career without a single regret.
