You know the song, "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles? Great song, right? I remember driving to college with my car stuffed full of clothes, boxes and I think even a plant like it was yesterday thinking, maybe that's what I'll be when I graduate... a radio star. I've always wanted to be a radio star.
Flash forward 22 years and I still listen to the DJ's on our local alternative rock station and think how cool it would be to be able to listen to music for a living. And then I usually come to my senses and I realize I don't love music that much and the long and early hours might make my dream job of being a radio star a litte less dreamy.
In November while attending ERE's Social Recruiting Summit in NYC I finally met Chris Russell, Founder and Chief Jobcaster of Jobs in Pods. Chris said to me, "What do you think of a Sodexo Careers Radio Show?" He may not of actually said "Radio Show" but in my head I was thinking... "Radio Star!" We talked more, he introduced me to Peter Clayton, host/producer of Total Picture Radio and the plan was in motion.
Last week while I was visiting "the most magical place on earth" with my family (more on that later) Sodexo Careers debuted our very own "radio show." OK, so maybe it's not a really radio show but it is radio-like and in fact it's better than "radio" because it's on-demand. On-demand meaning you can listen to it when ever and as many times as you want.
The Sodexo Career Cast will be a bi-monthly production featuring the latest career news, hot jobs and even insider tips to getting hired at Sodexo.
The inaugural episode of the features Anthony Scarpino, Senior Director and Susan Laramee, Clinical Recruitment Manager for Sodexo’s Talent Acquisition Group and discusses what's new at Sodexo like our new mobile career site, reasons to work for Sodexo like our career growth opportunities, things you didn’t know about Sodexo, and hot job openings. Because March was National Nutrition Month we focussed the first episode on Dietitian jobs at Sodexo.
