An open letter to Sodexo's Environmental Services Teams from Tom Cusimano, Senior Vice President Sodexo Health Care in recognition of National Health Care Environmental Services and Housekeeping Week

Dear Sodexo Environmental Services Teams,

Thank you.

Thank you for making a difference each and every day. You deliver extraordinary results, you make it happen, and you get the job done! It's that plain and simple, although I know it's not that simple.

The facilities where we serve are both large and small. They operate 365 days a year. They're open each and every holiday. They have patients, visitors and staff coming and going all the time. Your jobs are critical. Our teams make sure that the Medical Facilities we service and use are clean and up to the specific guidelines of the infection control department. You insure the safety of the people we serve. Our teams perform like an orchestra with every team member knowing their role and working collectively as one.

Sodexo's Environmental Service/Housekeeping teams do more that just clean and sanitize. You deliver on the Sodexo promise of delivering an excellent Patient and Resident Experience. You do it by making sure that patients, residents, visitors and staff experience not only a clean facility but an excellent customer experience. Our dedicated employees implement programs, systems, and procedures that allow your staff to stay focused on your patients' well being. Tom provides leadership to the central area and continuously works with his team to lead the Cultural transition of the Patient Experience. He has been an active proponent in the development of our future leaders and is a mentor in the Impact to Mentoring program.
