If you are an RD you may want to tune into CNBC and C-SPAN, and on NASDAQ’s Web site tomorrow (March 12, 2009) live at at 9:15 a.m. Eastern Time to watch the American Dietetic Association (ADA) officially start the NASADAQ trading day in recognition of National Nutrition Month and Registered Dietitian Day.The current ADA President, Martin M. Yadrick, MS, MBA, RD, FADA will be joined by a number of ADA members who live in the New York area — representing all members of the ADA. The ceremony is also broadcast on video screens in Times Square; ADA’s name and logo will be on NASDAQ’s Times Square tower all day Thursday with the message “The Stock Exchange Welcomes the American Dietetic Association.”
Sodexo's Talent Acquisition Group has additional reason to celebrate today as one of our very own, Susan Laramee, MS, RD, FADA (MA) was recently elected to a 3 year term as Director, Commission on Dietetic Registration by the ADA, the nation’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals.
Susan is currently the Clinical Recruitment Manager with Sodexo’s Talent Acquisition Group specializing in the recruitment of Registered Dietitians. She also serves as manager for Sodexo external relationships with national nutrition associations, state affiliate dietetic associations, and dietetic practice groups. Susan plays a key role helping, Dianne Harrison, Senior Director, lead a group of six Senior Recruiters who work hard every day to fill RD positions for Sodexo around the country. Susan joined Sodexo after being employed at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, where she held a number of management and clinical specialist positions, including a joint appointment as Assistant Professor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in the graduate program in Dietetics. She is a past-President of the ADA and representing the ADA Board of Directors, she recently served on the American Medical Association Expert Committee Assessment, Prevention and Management of Pediatric and Adolescent Obesity and currently serves as Chair, Board of Directors for the ADA Political Action Committee. She has held numerous positions within the American Dietetic Association, including media spokesperson, Director-At-Large on ADA’s Board of Directors, President of the Massachusetts Dietetic Association and Chair, Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group. Susan is the author of more that 50 publications and has been an invited speaker at more than 200 professional meetings. In recognition of her leadership, professional achievements and mentoring, she was the recipient of ADA’s prestigious Medallion Award, Outstanding Dietitian of the Year in Massachusetts, and Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Allied Health at Syracuse University.
