Today, we (Sodexo's Talent Acquisition group) are debuting our newly enhanced Employee Referral Program, Star Finder, is being re-launched, and we are introducing Sodexo’s new alumni Community – Reconnexions.
If you didn't know Employee Referral programs are one of the most successful recruiting tools companies use to bring in top talent. Star Finder’s re-launch will make it easier to submit referrals, recognize employees publicly and communicate the value of a robust referral program for our growing Company. One of the exciting features of the re-launch effort is a new dedicated website that will feature tools and information to encourage employees to make referrals.

Given the specialized skill sets of many of the employees working at Sodexo, we want to maintain contact and keep exiting talent engaged even after they have left to pursue other opportunities.

A quick story about how small this world really is!
This morning I was reading the careers blog and saw the link to the Reconnexions site. Now, I have seen this site over and over again during the past few weeks since I helped to organize and facilitate the HR webinars introducing it along with the Star Finder program. But, since the link was right there in the blog, I thought I’d poke around again. I keep in touch with a few alumni and thought I’d forward the link.
I remembered seeing Jodi Davidson’s face on the Who’s Back page, so I thought I’d go read her story. That’s when I saw him. That guy, on the Who’s Back page – he’s my cousin! No way!
I clicked on his face, and sure enough, my cousin Jeff Berbach is also employed by Sodexo. Who knew? I was so tickled I immediately found him in Outlook and sent him an e-mail. We rarely see each other (especially now that we’ve gotten older), so it was as if Sodexo provided a funny family reunion through the Reconnexions site.
So thanks, Kerry, for advertising the two new programs on the blog. And thanks Lisa & Michelle for putting the Reconnexions program together. It’s a small world after all.
